This module will explore how colonialism continued to impact minority communities in Canada.

This course will explore the critical histories of racism and oppression in Canada and its impact on the communities. 


Participants will learn the fundamental language and theories of anti-oppression to understand the various forms of system discrimination.

  • Participants will be able to understand the key definitions in anti-oppression, anti-discrimination, equity, diversity and inclusion study 

  • Participants will be able to understand anti-oppression, anti-racism, equity, diversity and inclusion theories 

  • Participants will understand the difference between equity and equality and will be introduced to the changing dynamics of social justice work
